The Envirothon is a fun, hands-on,\u00a0natural science academic competition for teams of middle and high school students and is sponsored\u00a0by the N.C. Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts and local districts,\u00a0with help in organization and implementation from the\u00a0division.\u00a0The contest, workshop and award handbook can be viewed HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n A year-long curriculum combining\u00a0in-class studies with outdoor\u00a0training\u00a0in ecology and natural resource management\u00a0emphasizes teamwork and higher order thinking skills such as analysis and interpretation.\u00a0 The\u00a0Envirothon helps develop environmentally aware citizens\u00a0who are able to assume future leadership roles.\u00a0 Subject areas studied are:\u00a0Aquatic Ecology, Forestry, Soils and Land Use, Wildlife and Current Environmental Issues.<\/strong><\/p>\n For more information about the Envirothon, please visit the N.C.
